A careful look

Roof Inspections in Decatur

An unhurried look at the whole roof and attic, with a photograph of every finding and an honest read on what it means.

Small drone hovering against a cloudy evening sky

Every Roof Has a Story to Tell

A roof keeps a quiet record of everything it has been through: the summers that baked it, the storms that tested it, the trees that dropped leaves into its valleys. An inspection is how we read that record. Ours is a free inspection, and we take our time with it. Outside, we work across every slope looking for curling, cracking, lifted tabs, hail bruises, exposed nails and loose ridge caps. We study the valleys and the flashing where the roof meets walls, the rubber collars around vent pipes, every vent and the gutters, which often collect telltale piles of granules. Inside, the attic fills in the rest of the story. Stains on the wood, damp insulation, pinpoints of daylight or stifling heat all point to problems the shingles may be hiding. We photograph each finding and label it. Then, at the kitchen table or out on the porch, we share the pictures one by one, separating what needs attention soon from what can safely wait. And if your roof is in good health, we will happily tell you so.

Covered in Every Inspection

From the ridge down to the gutters, and up into the attic.

  • All slopes

Curling, cracking, lifted tabs and hail bruising noted.

  • Valleys and walls

Flashing checked wherever water changes direction.

  • Vent collars

Rubber boots around pipes checked for cracks.

  • Roof vents

Exhaust and ridge vents checked for damage and gaps.

  • Gutters

Granule buildup, sagging and blocked outlets.

  • The attic

Stains, damp insulation, daylight and airflow.

  • Photographs

Every finding captured and labeled for you to keep.

What to Expect

  1. Pick a daylight time

We need dry conditions and good light to inspect safely.

  2. Roof, then attic

Outside first, then inside, photographing as we go.

  3. A sit-down review

We explain the findings; a written quote follows only at your request.
