Making Sense of a Roof Claim

A roof claim is something most families face only rarely during their years in a house, so it is no surprise that the process can feel confusing, with policy language, inspection appointments and estimates written in a shorthand of their own. We help by doing the part we know well: showing clearly what happened to your roof. The first visit is a free inspection, during which every hailstone mark and wind crease gets a picture and a measurement across each slope, the dents in the soft metals and any water marks in the attic. Then you decide whether filing makes sense. If you go ahead, the claim stays in your name and under your control. When the adjuster comes out, one of our roofers meets them on the roof to point out each damaged area. Afterward, we study the insurer's estimate item by item. Should items a proper repair or replacement requires were left off, such as drip edge, vents, underlayment or code-related details, we write up a supplement with photographs and forward it to your insurer. Approval is never something we promise, and we never guess at what your insurer will pay. We simply make sure the evidence is complete and the work is done well once the claim is settled.
